Starch, a high polymeric carbohydrate is a mixture of two polysaccharide, such as amylose and amylopectin. Starch conversion enzyme can change the internal structure of starch, which will decrease the starch viscosity, thereby meeting the requirement in papermaking process.
AU-PEA550 is an Amylum conversion enzyme derived from the submerged fermentation of Bacillus subtilis. It is mainly used in the pulp and paper making industry.
The function of AU-PEA550 is equal to starch modifying agent. With unique advantages, it is applicable to various kinds of paper pulp. The surface sizing agent for paper now is usually oxidized starch. The main disadvantages of traditional method of modifying oxidized-starch such as high cost, difficulties in controlling oxidation degree and environment pollution among others, can be easily conquered by enzyme starch modifying technics.
The benefits of using AU-PEA550 for modifying original starch are easier operation technics, lower cost and no pollution.
This product can still have the indicated activity after three months storage under 25celsius . In lower temperature, the activity of the product will last longer. This product should not be frozen.
1. AU-PEA550 provides maximal benefit at pH range of 6.0 – 7.0 and at the temperature of 65 – 70celsius
2. The product has an optimum pH of 6.0-6.5 and is deactivated at pH below 5.0.

Unit definition: The amount of enzyme needed to hydrolyze 1 mg of starch in one minute at pH 6.0 at the reaction temperature of 60celsius and the unit can be showed as u/ml.
This product follow the industry standard of PRC as QB1805.1-93.
APPLICATION AND DOSAGE:
Add AU-PEA550 at the rate of 0.2-0.5 U/g together with calcium (Ca2+) at a concentration of 50-70ppm. The dosage should be decided through experiments according to the real objective conditions.
