INTRODUCTION: The Monitor/Smoothness Tester is a self-contained instrument for the measurement of Sheffield-type smoothness. This measurement can be used to predict the printing quality of a variety of sheet materials. An optional attachment allows measurement of porosity. APPLICATIONS: Linerboard, Carton Board, Coated Board, Paper, Coated Paper, Newsprint, Films and Foils, Printing, Graphics, Packaging SPECIFICATIONS: * Direct Readings in Sheffield (Range: 15-400) and SCCM units (103-3344). Smoothness: * Conforms to TAPPI T-538 Permeability: * Conforms to TAPPI T-547, ISO 5636/4 and APPITA/as 1301.441
